Jordon Mckerr

From Army REME in Kenya to Warehouse Operative in Shildon. Jordon McKerr decided it was time for change and started his journey at Kellars in September 2020 as a Warehouse Operative.

The 27-year-old Warehouse Operative took no time to get into the swing of things in our NE depot in Shildon and enjoys spending his days with the fantastic team of warehouse Ops and Supervisors.

After having no experience in the flooring industry until now, Jordon was keen to get stuck into a new opportunity and be part of the journey at Kellars.

“New challenges and roles each day keeps the job interesting, and working with so many different products means that we are always busy”

A typical day for the warehouse Op includes working both as a team and individually, whether this be unloading or loading trucks, picking stock, transferring products from depot to depot, forklift duties and overall organisation of the warehouse.

This is quite the opposite from his role in the Army REME, where he spent his days across different areas in the UK, and 3 months in Kenya.

In this time as a Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineer, Jordon helped provide equipment support and this is done by conducting preventative maintenance, repairs, recovery, manufacture, and modification of the Army’s equipment

“The future at Kellars is exciting, with the developments in warehouse space, staff, branding and other investments means that we are only getting bigger and better”

“I’m looking to further my career here at Kellars, and being surrounded by a great team makes a huge difference as we are all working towards a similar goal”

In Jordon’s time away from work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, going on holiday, particularly skiing breaks, and playing rugby every now and again.
