Kellars Area Sales Manager and flooring enthusiast, David Fletcher announced his retirement last week after 40 years in the industry.
Let’s go back to the beginning…
David started as a retail salesman 40 years ago, starting his ‘repping’ journey at 22 years old with Duralay underlay, and Lancaster Carpets.
Fast forwarding a year or so, he was working alongside his father, running a business for 15 years, and learned the ins and outs of the industry and product market.
2002 saw him move into wholesale work, and joined Kellars in 2009, bringing his experience in a b2b environment to the team.
“At this point, Kellars had 2 reps: myself and a Merseyside rep, and after a short time, I was the only rep at Kellars covering the North West. This was a fantastic experience for me, allowing me to network in the industry and deal with a variety of customers”
David has seen it all at Kellars, from the beginning, until now in 2022, and describes the journey as: “Amazing! It’s great to see the rapid growth of the company over the years since the takeover”
A few comments from David about his time at Kellars as an Area Sales Manager:
I fondly remember our first Harrogate show, with my friend and boss Dave Francis on our shoebox size stand, as they say from little acorns.
From the original company there are only 4 of us left.I called us the fantastic 4, so it will soon be the 3 musketeers; Harry the driver, Steve in the warehouse, and of course the amazing Wayne.
It has been fantastic to work for Kellars. The team is now the best I have ever worked with and I wish everybody success, and mostly good health for the future.
