Ben Butler joined us 8 months ago as an Area Sales Manager, to cover North and East London, and Essex, as we continue to expand Kellars into the Southern sectors of the UK.
His flooring journey began after he started building his sales experience early in the Market Sales at 14 years old. Years later, he jumped into a new role as a Science teacher in a secondary school.
At 24, Ben was introduced to the world of flooring when he started building his experience as a Sales Representative for Culpeck (known as Headlam), based in Kent. After 3 years, Ben decided to progress into a residential business development manager across Kent, Essex, and South East London for Amtico.
2022 saw Ben go back to his roots in sales, as he joined Kellars as an Area Sales Manager. His days and weeks consist of presenting products to new and existing customers, showing what Kellars have to offer, dealing with customer orders and service, along with maintaining relationships with clients in the South.
We asked Ben a few quick fire questions about his time at Kellars:
Your favourite Kellars stand?
I love the modern, sleekness of the Carpet and Alva wall stands. Both of these really stand out, and the store installations look fantastic, especially with the additional lightbox.
What do you love about working for Kellars?
Working for an independent wholesaler or company means that everyone is a close knit team who are always keen to go the extra mile. This is definitely what makes us stand out from the competitors.
It’s great that everyday is different, and thanks to all the new ranges that have and are being launched, there is always something to get excited to introduce to customers.
Your best-selling product?
Hard to narrow it down to one. Alva has proved to be going from strength to strength since it’s release in January. Our Perseus range has been a huge positive hit, as a soft touch polyester however, Zadar dense pile saxony launched in March and has had huge interest in the market, and I think this will soon be his best seller!
Highlights and stand out moments?
The way that customers have really backed us as a company and a team. Seeing our showroom stands get installed into shops across the country, and the positive feedback we have received each time. The 2022 Flooring Show really kicked it off for us, and after only working for Kellars for a week prior to the show, I loved the buzz of the event, and so did our customers.
Things you do in your free time?
Ben has played rugby since the age of 14, in both the Rugby Union and League. In his downtime, when he’s not playing rugby, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 boys.
