The Flooring Show:

With less than 30 days to go until the 2021 Flooring Show kicks off on the 19th September, it’s time to get ready for the biggest event in the flooring industry.

Kellars are very excited to showcase their product ranges and brands to over 250 businesses from around the world including our award-winning Forma Laminate Collection branding.

Come and visit us on Stand A17 to view our latest brands, products, ranges, stands and showrooms. We will be exhibiting our newly branded collections, whether this be flooring products, underlay, or accessories.

We have been working on our new identity here at Kellars and are looking to take the next step in the flooring industry and exhibit this in our 150sqm showroom in Harrogate.

More than 20 Kellars Area Sales Managers will be on hand this year around our showroom to ensure we meet all your flooring needs and help you choose your next order from us.

FIA Brand concepts winner:

We are thrilled to announce that Kellars have achieved the Category Flooring Innovation award 2021 in the New Brand Concepts in Marketing, for our Forma Laminate Collection branding.

We developed the Forma brand with the idea of creating a collection which represented a Masterpiece and introduced our artistically inspired concepts to add a unique and modern approach.

Don’t forget to tune in on Sunday 19th September 2021 for the final gold award draw in Harrogate… Wish us luck!

Ryan Evans: Staff Profile

After years of experience in warehouse operations, roofing work and asbestos removal, Ryan decided to jump into a new industry and opportunity at Kellars.

In June 2020, Ryan started off as a warehouse operative here in Shildon and has often spent some time in Glasgow helping to run their warehouse operations.

“Since I have been working a few different jobs over the years, I was keen to jump into a new industry, and was excited to get started at Kellars after getting the job”

Shortly after gaining some experience and knowledge at Kellars, it took no time for the warehouse operative to work his way up to lead supervisor in our Northeast depot.

The lead supervisor said “I was over the moon when I was promoted to this position and love the everyday challenges of this role in the warehouse”

A typical day for Ryan consists of picking stock, loading, and unloading Kellars trucks, sorting out the organisation of the warehouse, taking stock levels and managing the team of operatives in Shildon.

“I love the environment at Kellars, and I am surrounded by a fantastic team which makes the company feel more like a family than a corporate business”

With the rapid growth and development at Kellars, along with the increase in warehouse space means that the company is heading in the right direction.

Ryan says: “It’s great to see the company evolving in such a short space of time, and the expansion of warehouse space and new depots means we are able to meet and exceed the need for flooring in the UK”

Away from his busy work schedule, Ryan spends time with his younger daughter on weekends away and often visits local beaches around the Northeast with his family and friends.

Transport

This year, our HGV drivers at Kellars will be developing their knowledge by completing the Driver CPC training course provided by RTITB.

Jackie Gee, Transport Manager says “This is a fantastic opportunity for the drivers at Kellars to broaden and strengthen their knowledge in multiple areas”

“I received my RTITB DCPC Instructors qualification, which was a 5-day course, meaning that I have the privilege of now being able to teach the course to our HGV drivers at Kellars”

Every 5 years, our drivers carry out 35 hours of training to ensure that we are operating at the safest and most efficient standard consistently across each depot.

The course covers various areas including drivers’ hours/working time directive, vulnerable road users, manual handling and securing of load.

This will have a fantastic impact on the learners, and for Kellars itself as training will then be carried out in house, and the DCPC will be managed to ensure everyone has completed their 35 hours of training, ideally 1 module (7 hours per year) which would be more cost effective.

Delta Net:

At Kellars we will be introducing a new E-learning platform ‘DeltaNet’ which provides the staff at Kellars with courses and a Health and Safety learning system in replacement of our current programme ‘Edapp’.

This new learning experience will be introduced and in operation from December 2021.

DeltaNet is a system which invests into individuals, and runs from the My Astute app, meaning that each course is RoSPA or CPD assured, rewarding our staff with a well-recognised certificate.

The Astute App is a fantastic way to bring our learners together from remote locations in the UK, whether this be staff in our offices or warehouses. Each learner can complete courses online and offline, making this an ideal application for when they are on the move!

RoSPA approval means that it is formally recognised by a key independent Health and Safety body/organisation.

CPD is the UK leading accreditation service which helps organisations like Kellars provide employees with the most effective and beneficial modules and courses.

This platform is a safe, secure, and legal way of providing courses, due to being compliant with legislation, and taking steps to obey laws, policies, and regulations.

Each of the provided courses are accredited, meaning that each learner receives the highest standard of training.

DeltaNet is mobile and web compatible and can be launched through a mobile application. This new development system is also going to benefit the company internally with statutory compliance and keeping track of records.
